We reclaim wood from early American barns and farm buildings in the Allegheny Highlands of Virginia and West Virginia. Wormy and clear chestnut, antique oak, knotty and clear pine -- as well as occasional stocks of cherry, walnut and ash -- are available.

Many structures are from 50 to 100 years old and were built using solid post and beam construction with large, straight timbers. The random lengths and widths vary widely and many of these dimensions are not found easily anymore, with some boards up to 16" wide, in thicknesses a full inch or even 5/4s. Framing timbers up to 25' long are also available.

Reclaiming antique wood is an environmentally responsible practice and adds a unique design dimension to flooring, timber framing, paneling, cabinets, moldings, stair risers and treads, wainscoting, and furniture. These hand-hewn beams and pole rafters provide beauty and strength for a variety of structural and decorative uses. Entire structures are also available.

Highland Antique Wood can be shipped in reclaimed condition or cut and planed to your specifications. Contact us for current information on availability, pricing and shipping. We welcome direct inquiries concerning your specific needs.
